Do you offer family trips?
Intrepid Travel offers a wide range of Family Adventures around the globe. The minimum age (for Family trips) varies depending on destination, and Intrepid Travel has set minimum ages to ensure that the included activities suit each age range. Additionally, you’ll notice that some of the more adventurous destinations have a higher minimum age.
I have a disability – can I join an Intrepid trip?
Intrepid Travel is committed to making travel widely accessible, regardless of ability or disability. They ask that you carefully consider whether you are physically and mentally able to complete the itinerary you have chosen, recognising that on many trips you will be required to carry your own bags and use public transport. Where Intrepid Travel can, they will make reasonable adjustments to the operation of their trips to facilitate the requirements of disabled travellers – such as booking ground floor accommodation or having their leaders communicate important directions in writing as well as verbally. Many travellers with disabilities have been able to enjoy Intrepid Travel’s trips by travelling with a friend or companion who can assist with specific needs.
Is travel insurance compulsory to cover your trips?
Travel insurance is compulsory on all Intrepid Travel’s trips for those travelling internationally. They require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. If you are travelling within your home country or region please confirm before travel that you are entitled to access the public medical system easily should an accident occur. Intrepid Travel strongly recommend all travellers have a policy that also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage or personal effects. For international trips, you will not be permitted to join the group until evidence of travel insurance and the insurance company’s 24-hour emergency contact number has been sighted by your leader.
My tour has been cancelled, what happens to my booking now?
If you were booked on a tour that has been cancelled due to Force Majeure, you will automatically receive a credit of monies paid to Intrepid Travel with no expiry date. This excludes additional flights or insurance as they will have their own booking conditions. You do not need to contact Intrepid Travel to confirm your travel credit as it has been automatically applied to your Intrepid Travel booking file. Simply contact them when the time comes that you are ready to re-book. You can redeem your travel credit on almost any Intrepid Travel trip globally, so it does not have to be the same tour you were originally booked on.
If Intrepid Travel cancels my trip due to Force Majeure, am I entitled to a refund?
The majority of Intrepid Travel’s customers have been happy to receive a travel credit, but Intrepid Travel understand that in some instances this will not suit your personal situation. If this is the case for you, please complete the refund request form and they will review your case in line with original booking conditions at the time of your booking.
